Going north on Hwy. 511 between Balderson and Lanark you will cross a bridge, round a curve and feel your eyes being drawn to a fine-looking property called the Headricks’ farm. Research reveals nothing special about its history or architecture, yet this farm has become a well-known landmark, probably because of its attitude to the road which allows a pleasant and inviting view. Fertile fields, rocky knolls, trees and water give it the classic Lanark County look. While viewing my painting of this scene, an obviously excited viewer exclaimed: “Where is that farm? I want to buy it!”.
